Why don’t I see more shelter options?

There are not many shelters that are low barrier unfortunately. Many have restrictions around substance use, pets, and infants/children. Some lock up your belongings, search bags, or ask you to do something before receiving a service. We hope many of the existing shelters in Seattle will change their policies to create a more accessible and safe space for people using substances.
